At a regional referral center in the Midwest, Sound Physicians saw 1,750 cases in the first year of providing comprehensive hospitalist services. As a result of performance management efforts, length of stay decreased to 4.10 days, while Case Mix Index increased from 1.46 to 1.62. According to the hospital CFO, the improved performance resulted in an additional $1.69 million of net revenue.
