‘Super’ Hospitalists
Through collaboration with our acute-care hospital partners we developed an ICU hospitalist model utilizing physicians with strong procedural skills to provide primary coverage in the ICU when intensivists are unavailable or limited. ICU hospitalists reduce the on-call requirements for the critical care physicians that are needed for both inpatient and outpatient care, making it easier to recruit into those positions.
