Sound's 2007 Annual Chief's Conference in Tacoma, Wash.

4/25/2007 (TACOMA, Wash.) Sound Inpatient Physicians' annual Chief's Conference was held April 23-25, 2007 in Tacoma, WA. Chiefs from partner hospitals throughout all our regions attended seminars focused on leadership skills, the business of medicine, risk management, diagnostic coding and compliance. The annual conference is part of the SIP Hospitalist Institute-Sound's Continuing Education program dedicated to hospitalist professional development.

Chiefs discussed mutual objectives, the delivery of care and being a force for change. Workshops addressed new hospitalist orientation, core measures, group norms and overcoming barriers. Guest speakers included Leonard Freehof, CEO of Auburn Regional Medical Center (Hospitalist Medicine) and Dr. William Welton (Emotional Intelligence).

Following the conference, Sound's organizational team expanded the hospitalist educational blog continuing the process of further sharing knowledge and information across all physicians in the various hospital teams.
