Sound’s model for defining hospital medicine is based on collecting objective data and utilizing informatics to identify areas for improvements around clinical and financial outcomes. We insist on continuously measuring performance and progress over time.

Our process includes capturing baseline data from our hospital partners and we begin monitoring performance for the clinical team and each individual hospitalist at the start of each new hospital partnership. Sound identifies opportunities for improvement in quality, satisfaction, efficiency, market share and revenue for our hospital partners. We then work with the clinical and business teams to build strategies that incorporate core processes addressing these areas of improvement. Our ability to track metrics in real-time is the backbone of our operation. With real-time metrics we can continuously improve the quality and efficiency of our teams.

We report on daily, monthly and quarterly results to our teams, targeting metrics that impact performance. We use these metrics to determine where training, clinical process interventions and leadership intervention are needed to drive the desired outcomes for our partner hospital and ultimately improve patient care. Sound Physicians presents a quarterly business review to recap on the measurable return on investment and progress against performance goals.
