As CEO for hospital medicine, Dr. Mihir Patel leads a team of more than 2,400 hospital-based physicians and advanced practice providers working across 250 unique programs in 45 states. Spearheading initiatives to drive better patient outcomes and physician engagement, Dr. Patel is accountable for managing the clinical and financial operations of Sound’s hospital medicine practices. He earned his medical degree from NHL Medical College/Gujarat University in India and completed his internal medicine training at Saint Mary’s Hospital, a teaching hospital of the Yale School of Medicine, in Connecticut. Dr. Patel also earned his MBA in healthcare management from the University of Texas at Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management. He is currently a fellow with the American College of Physicians and a senior fellow with the Society of Hospital Medicine.
